Ours is a landscape of hills and valleys, pine and cork oak forests – but just a short drive from some of Europe’s wildest and most picturesque beaches.
And the whole property is off the grid, so electricity is produced by the sun, water comes from a well, and a radio link provides the high speed internet connection.
When Ana and Alastair first discovered their European home, it was the endless view over forests and mountains they fell in love with…but on their first night in the valley it was the sky above that inspired the name.
Far from the bright lights of big cities, you can lie back and look up at the Milky Way and pick out the zodiac constellations as they pass above the valley.
Vale das Estrelas is our project to create a sustainable, off the grid living accommodation and wine tasting. We currently have one guesthouse but are expanding!
